Strong. Black. Positive. Incredible. Those are just a few words to describe Milwaukee, Wisconsin, raised and New York City-based singer/songwriter, Polly A. The [brilliant] singer/songwriter has a raw soul, roots, reggae sound with an intense rasp that will send chills down your spine — a sound she lovingly refers to as a "hybrid". The Sony/ATV Publishing affiliated songstress has been making a name for herself in the industry over the past few years, working alongside Nas and Amy Winehouse collaborator/producer Salaam Remi, and writing music for international heavyweights like the incomparable Alicia Keys and J.Cole on his smash-hit "Crooked Smile." With her debut EP, Ghetto Gold Dream, about to drop on August 26, recently signing to Adam Levine's 222 Records, and releasing gorgeous new visuals for the EP's title-track exclusively on Elle's website, 2016 is looking like it will be a turning point in her career — and her life.

As she explained in her exclusive interview with Elle, she's come to understand that music can help to bridge cultural divides and unite us all — a point of view that's become one of her main goals with not just this debut release, but her music on a whole. You'll have plenty of opportunity to catch some of her positive vibes as the soulful singer performs [live] this summer; she'll be on her home turf July 26 at The Bowery Ballroom in New York City, alongside Michael Blume and Topaz Jones and — as well — later rocking the stage later this month at Lollapalooza.

For now — take a look at her new video, "Ghetto Gold Dream" which is also available for download via iTunes.
